Description:
Public servant who worked in the Railways Department and later headed the Tourism Branch of that department which became the Tasmanian Government Tourist Bureau. He retired in 1941. Emmett had a keen interest in Tasmania generally and in Tasmanian history. Amongst other things he was a member of the Royal Society of Tasmania, the Scenery Preservation Board and a founder of the Hobart Walking Club.
