Edward Frederick Trollope was the son of Reverend William Trollope of Dorking in Surrey. The family, comprising William, his wife Sarah and 6 children, migrated to Australia in 1849, aboard the ship "John Munn" . Rev. Trollope, formerly a Classics Master of Pembroke College, Cambridge, opened a school in Melbourne. He later accepted an appointment in Tasmania as chaplain in the Macquarie River area, at Oatlands and finally at Green Ponds (Kempton) where he died in 1863.;;Edward farmed in Tasmania but by the time he married Isabella Harriss in 1878 he was recorded as living in Bairnsdale in Gippsland, Victoria. He died on 2 Sep 1910 in Warrnambool, Victoria.;;Edward Trollope was the cousin of writer Anthony Trollope.;;
