John Watchorn was a merchant, Mayor of Hobart and an MLC for Huon from 1882- until his death on 4 March 1905. He arrived from London in 1837 and married widow Dorcas Anne Blakey (formerly Collins) on 15 August 1854 .They had 10 children.
