Description:
Richard Henry Hooper was a settler on King Island, developing the property 'Preston' at Naracoopa, from about 1910. He took an active part in King Island affairs and wrote the book 'The King Island Story'. ;;;;Hooper also served in World War 1 as a member of Dunsterforce, a 1917 Allied military operation in Iran that aimed to prevent the invasion of India by Germano-Turkish forces. Dunsterforce was under the command of General Lionel Charles Dunsterville.
