Lieutenant Eric Scott-Young from South Australia married Nancy Maud Nichols, the daughter of Septimus Nichols and his wife Elvira Mary Smith. They farmed at 'Palmerston' Cressy, a property purchased by his wife's father in 1896. Eric died in Launceston on the 26 March 1941. He had lately been Adjutant, Headquarters Staff at Brighton Camp. He left two sons Robert and Peter. Robert and his descendants still farm at 'Palmerston' although the original homestead was sold in the 1970's when Nancy moved to Launceston.
