Leonard Stewart-Wall (1873 - 1936) was the youngest son of George and Mary Ann Wall of Colombo, Sri Lanka. Leonard received his MA at Keble College, Oxford c. 1899, practised Hythe in the Diocese of Canterbury, England. He had arrived in Australia in 1909 after the death of his first wife Emily. He was appointed as mission chaplain to the Bishop of Rockhampton in June 1909 and then to the position of rector at the church in Blackall, Queensland.;;He married Beatrice Butler, daughter of Francis Frederick and Emma Butler of Korongee, Moonah on 13 October 1909 and the couple returned to Queensland.;;By 1914 they had returned to Tasmania and Stewart-Wall was inducted as rector of St Paul's Church, Launceston 1916. This was followed by appointments at Cullenswood and Sorell.;;
