Stephen Hooker was a member of the Waratah Camera Club. He was appointed Treasurer on 7 July 1908 and delivered lectures to the Club on negatives; snapshots of Sydney and methods of prospecting for gold,coal and tin via a lantern slide lecture.;;;;Hooker was a battery manager at the Mount Bischoff Mine and a member of the Mt Bischoff Provident Hospital Board until he resigned in August 1914.;;;;His marriage notice appeared in the Mercury 3 April 1886 p1 recording that on March 11 at Primitive Methodist Church, Waratah by the Reverend T. Roberts, Stephen, third son of Mr James Hooker, Yarowee, Victoria married Edith, second youngest daughter of Mr Alfred Lucas, Waratah (and North-West Bay).;;;;He was still in Waratah in 1918 when peace was celebrated. His son Private Gordon Hooker, who had enlisted in Melbourne, was wounded in France. A letter from his son from Poziers had been published in the North West Advertiser and Emu Bay Times on the 11 Nov 1916 p8. His daughter Daisy left Waratah to attend Teacher's Training School, Launceston in August 1917.;;;;He apparently retired to 5 Madden Street, Devonport as indicated by an article in the Mercury, March 11 1936 about his Golden Wedding celebration.;;;;;;;;;;;;
