In 1989 a joint project was initiated between the Deloraine, Bothwell, and Hamilton Municipal Councils and the State Government. Its aim was to record the experiences and observations of people who had worked and lived in the Central Plateau area.;;The Project was steered by a Committee which included representatives from each of the councils, the Department of Parks, Wildlife and Heritage and other interested parties. The Chairman of the Committee was Simon Cubit.
