Archibald (Arch) Stephenson (1891 - 1968), photographer, came to the Beattie Studio business in 1926, having worked previously in Van Dyke Studios in Launceston.;;He was the son of printer, John Stephenson, and Esther Sparrow of Launceston and married Florence Waddle in March 1916.;;When J.W. Beattie died in 1930, Beattie's Studio was run temporarily by Jack Cato and then Frank B. Cane.;;In 1933, the Cleburne building in Murray Street which housed the studio, was burned and some of the photographic negatives were lost.;;Beattie's moved to McGuffie's Studio in Collins Street Hobart and then a year later into the newly opened Cat and Fiddle Arcade.;;In 1934 Arch Stephenson purchased the business. The studio remained in the Stephenson family until 1993.;;Arch's son, Albert Archibald (Bill) Stephenson (10/5/1916 - 23/2/2013), joined the business in 1933. Arch's grandson, William D. (Bill) Stephenson (2/10/1939 -9/3/2021), worked in the studio from 1955 until its closure in 1993.;;Albert Archibald (Bill) Stephenson turned the studio into a portrait business - photographs for weddings, engagements, babies, children, debutantes, and passports became its speciality.;;
