The aim of the Club was to promote interest in and disseminate knowledge of cacti (cactuses) and succulents among members and the wider community. To further these objectives the Club held at least five ordinary meetings per year and an Annual General Meeting; periodic 'at home' garden visits; public exhibitions; the publication of a newsletter and engaged with affiliated societies and individuals with an interest in the field. The Club was governed by an Executive Committee comprising the President, Vice-president, Secretary, Treasurer and Newsletter Editor.
