Description:
Charity Wynne (formerly known as Dora Josephine Walker) was born in Hampshire England. She studied dancing in London and came to Australia in 1923 after she and Mr Samson won a gold medal in the world ballroom dancing championships. She established the Charity Wynne School of Ballroom Dancing in Hobart where she taught, until her retirement in 1965. She also taught dancing in schools and trained many debutantes.;;After retiring Miss Wynne lived on Bruny Island where she was a member of the Country Womens Association and won many prizes for her handcrafts and play readings. In later life she lived at Guilford Grove in Sandy Bay.;;
