Alfred Green (1838-1912) founded Alfred Green and Co. in 1866. Prior to this Green had worked along side Launceston solicitor Byron Miller as "Miller and Green' (NG2260). Green had served his articles under John Ward Gleadow, one of the earliest private barristers and solicitors in Tasmania. His son Alfred Lawrence Green took over from his father at Alfred Green & Co. The firm 'Ritchie & Parker' amalgamated with Alfred Green & Co in 1912/13 and continued in business as 'Ritchie & Parker Alfred Green & Co (NG1315). Alfred Green Snr was closely associated with St. John's Church and was a churchwarden for four years, and trustee of the Launceston Church Grammar School from 1870 until his death.;;
