Working Women's Centre began September 19, 1994 (closed 18 August 2006). It was set up under a Keating Federal Government initative and modelled on the SA centre. Auspiced by Unions Tasmania in the first year.They were incorporated the following year.;;;;The Centre was briefly at 57 Patrick Street, had an official opening at Elsie's Cottage, Harrington Street and settled at 210 New Town Road, New Town.
