The Brammall family are a Tasmanian family line descended from Rev Charles Joseph Brammall (d.1906) who was born in Yorkshire England in 1830 to Rev Daniel Brammall and Jane Forster. Charles Joseph Brammall arrived in Hobart per the CANTERO in November 1858. He was a classics master at Hutchins school, before operating his own school in Hobart. After taking holy orders, Brammall became the incumbent of St John the Baptist's Church, Goulbourn Street, before taking on the Sorell parish for 27 years. He spent his final years in Hagley. Charles married Emily Garrett (1839-1902) in 1859. Together they had eleven children: Sophia Emily (b.1861), John Edwin (1863-1890), Mary Dorothea (1865-1902, married George Read), Alfred George (b.1867, married Alice Harbottle), Mabel Jane (1869-1950), Henry Charles (b.1871-1952), Helen Mary (b.1872-1910, nee Scott), Margaret Louise (1875-1907), Thomas Colin Brammall (1877-1945), Catherine Winifred (1880-1947) and Jean Lucy (1883-1903).;;Henry Charles Brammall, a son of Charles and Emily, also became an Anglican Cleric. Henry married Frances Jane Rule (1872-1934) and they had three children - Brian Henry (1905-1974), Sidney Charles (1905-1977), and Alan Patrick (1909-).;;Sidney Charles (1905-1977), the son of Henry Charles and Frances Jane, also an Anglican cleric, served in the Furneaux group of islands in Bass Strait from 1938 to 1941 and at The Hutchins School in the 1950s. Sidney was also involved with the Shakespeare Society of Tasmania (NG702) as a member and office bearer until probably the late 1950s, and was chaplain (Hobart) to Actor's Equity.;;Thomas Colin Brammall (1877-1945) , another son of Charles and Emily, married poet and novelist Bertha Southey Adams (NG3914) in 1905. Together that had five sons: Cuthbert Colin Douglas ('CCD/Doug') (1906 - 1984), Angus Garrett (1909-1979), Henric Wingfield (Harry) (1910-1995), Thomas Southey (1914-1995) and Bruce Lachlan (1915-1937). ;;Henric Wingfield (Harry) Brammall (NG3490) sailed as a crew member on the 1929-30 whaling voyage of the Neilsen Alonso, and later worked as a journalist
