Edward Clay, aged 49 years, born England married Cordelia (Cora) Murley, aged 34, born Cornwall , England (Bosavern, St Just, district of Penzance 28 April 1869) on the 21 February 1901 at Derby, Tasmania.;;Edward had formerly been employed in the UK at the Hull & Barnsley Dock Works, Alexandra Docks, Hull c1884. In Melbourne he worked for the Watts River Aqueduct (Waterworks) c1889 - 1891 and in 1892 at the West Melbourne Dock.;;He and Cora had at least four children including Joseph born in Queenstown, Tasmania in 1894; Mary Anne born in 1896 and Louisa Dosiha Murley Clay born in North Queenstown 11 January 1904.;;Edward died in Queenstown in 1912. His obituary says he had worked at Mt Lyell mine for 19 years and was a locomotive driver there from 1895 till 1904.;;Joseph Clay, who later appears to have lived in Brighton , Melbourne in the 1920's along with his widowed mother Cora,was a Tasmanian member of the Commonwealth Brass Band of 1926-27 and was both a musician and an engineer.
