Description:
William Nairn (1767-1853) was an army officer with the 46th Regiment. Born in England, he went with his regiment to NSW, then Van Diemen's Land in 1814 and India in 1818. After retiring from the army he returned to VDL in 1832, but was denied a land grant, so went to the Swan River settlement. He died in Fremantle on 8 June 1853.
