Frank Roden was born in Launceston on 21 March 1895. He was the proprietor of a Launceston furniture factory and a well-respected businessman. He was also a grand master of the (St John) Masonic Lodge of Tasmania, president of the ABC Bowling Club, chairman of the Greens Beach Development Co., and a strong contributor to Legacy.
