Born in Sandwich, England, Mr Albert Ernest James Westrope migrated to Tasmania with his parents when he was just a few months old. A resident of Bridport for many years, he had an enduring interest in ships and the sea. Mr Westrope died on 30 June 1955 and was buried in the Carr Villa Cemetery, Launceston.
