James Henry Wilson was born in London, England on 11 September 1886. He married Margaret Lillian Johnson (1891-1972) at Patea, New Zealand in 1912. The couple had three children, Margaret, Mary and James. Before joining the army he was a commercial traveller and agent. ;;;;Wilson enlisted with the AIF early in 1915. He arrived at Gallipoli on 2 November 1915 and served there until the night before the final evacuation. ;;In June 1916 Wlson was promoted to Captain and embarked for France. On 7 August he was wounded in the right arm and armpit. His arm was amputated. He returned to Australia in March 1918.;;;;Later Wilson was the Secretary of the Cremation Society of Tasmania and also a leading member of the entertainment group Fragments All Digger Entertainers. He died in the mid-1970s.
