Ivan John Badcock, family historian, was born on 19 May 1943, the eldest son of Eric William Badcock and Elma May Page. Mr Badcock is descended from six convicts and has a family of 10 children. He was a banker for 36 years, retiring at the end of 1996; he spent seven years with the Launceston Benevolent Society; has been a lay preacher since 1965 with the Westbury Methodist, then Uniting Church; and is involved with the Norfolk Plains 2013 bicentenary project.
