Description:
The "Extremely Greedy 40% Extra Party" was created in 1994. The name of the party was coined after a 40% wage increase that Premier Ray Groom had awarded serving politicians early in his term in office. The Party aimed to campaign for a reversal in the wage rise as well as opposing proposed changes to Tasmania's Hare-Clark electoral system. The Extremely Greedy 40% Extra Party fielded candidates in the 1996 Tasmanian election and polled 0.8% of the vote.
