Edith Castle was a daughter of George and Phebe Day from Somerset, England. She was baptised on 7 May 1799, married Joseph Castle on 2 January 1815, and had four childen - John, Robert, Phoebe and Joseph. The family sailed on the 'Orelia', arriving in Hobart, Van Diemen's Land, on 6 October 1827.;;;;Joseph Castle died on 23 March 1835. Edith married Henry Elliott on 4 August 1835. They had two children - Mary Anne (1836-1846) and Sarah Edith Ann (born January 1841). Edith Elliott died aged 47 on 24 May 1845 at 'Banwell', Spring Bay.
