Description:
Owaissa College was situated at 57 Darcy Street, South Hobart. It was advertised on 2 February 1932 as a "Day School for girls" with "visiting teachers for class singing, physical culture, drawing, German and French conversation".;;The founder and Principal was Miss Isabella Mather and the Vice Principal was Miss Linda Oliphant. Both had been teachers at the Hobart Ladies College which had closed.;;By 1934 ithe College admitted boys under the age of 7 and in the following year acted as a preparatory school for boys for the Friends' School.;;In 1941 Isabella Mather retired and Miss W[innie] Ivey took over as Principal. Owaissa College moved to the All Saints Schoolroom in 1942. It does not appear in 1944-45 Post Office Directory of Educational establishments.
