The Percy family of Clarence Plains, Tasmania, arrived from England on board the ship "Superb" in 1874. The parents, Frederick (d.1875) and Eliza (d.1908), had several children: Amy Janet (d.1894), Edith Gertrude (d.1914), Augusta Felicia (d.1901), Bertie Seymour (d.1927, in London), Ada Mary Constance (d.1908), and Rita Jessie (d.1917). The Percy family owned land in the area that later became the Hobart suburb of Tranmere.;;Augusta Felicia married the Rev Herbert Robert Finnis, acting incumbent of Clarence Plains, in 1882. Their son Horace Percy Finnis became Canon Finnis in the Anglican Diocese of Adelaide and was closely attached to the Cathedral.;;
