Description:
Albert Edward Goetze was born in Marylebone, London on 12 September 1862. He was one of six children born to James Henry Goetze and Rosina Harriett Bentley. His brother Sigusmund was a notable artist whose murals can be seen in the Houses of Parliament in London. Albert emigrated to Australia in 1882 on the Carlisle Castle as did his future wife, Harriett Dell. They married on 1 July 1885 at St Paul's Anglican Church, Launceston.;;Albert studied at the London University and worked as a clerk before embarking on teaching as a profession. He taught at the Launceston High School for some years. Albert was a keen yachtsman and sailed extensively in Tasmanian waters.;;Albert and Harriet moved south and settled at "Wendouree", King Street, Bellerive.;;Albert died on 8 January 1935 and was buried at St Matthews Anglican Cemetery, Rokeby.;;
