Description:
The Fisheries Commissioners and the Commission they constituted was abolished under the Fisheries Act 1925 which separated inland and sea fisheries into the Salmon & Freshwater Fisheries Commission and the Sea Fisheries Board respectively.;;;;The new Board was responsible for the management, control, protection and regulation of all fisheries of the State, other than salmon and freshwater fisheries.;;;;After a conference and Board of Enquiry was held in 1941 into sea fisheries a new Fisheries Act was passed the same year which placed fisheries directly under ministerial control and its administration by the Department of Agriculture.
