Description:
The Board comprises seven to twelve members with a maximum term of five years. It replaced an earlier Board focused exclusively on the performing arts. It was under direct ministerial control until 17 July 1989 when it came under the administrative control of the newly formed Department of Education and the Arts. The association with Education continued until 18 September 1998 when the Board was transferred to the Department of State Development. The Board comprises members from various sectors of the arts and the wider community, appointed by the Minister for the Arts. The Board provides advice to the Minister through recommendations for the expenditure of the annual arts grant and loan allocations.;;;;
