Description:
The Authority comprised 14 members serving three year terms and a chairman serving five year terms. The appointment of the chairman was at the discretion of the Minister. The members were chosen from lists submitted by various bodies. The Director of TAFE and the Master Builders association could each nominate one person, the Tasmanian Chamber of Industry could nominate five members and the Tasmanian Trades and Labour Council could noominate six members. To conform with changes in national training policy and to give effect to agreements between the Commonwealth and the States the Authority was replaced by a smaller body.~
