Description:
On 1 Mar 1977 the Public Works Department was split into separate Departments of Construction and Main Roads. As part of a re-organisation of the Tasmanian State Service the Dept of Main Roads was renamed Roads and Transport on 17 Jul 1989 and its Operations Branch was transferred to Construction.~
