Description:

Provide public hospital services for the municipalities of Emu Bay, Table Cape and Circular Head and manage the Spencer Public Hospital. By an Order in Council dated 11 August 1949 (TGG 24 August p. 2485) the District was redescribed as the Municipalities of Wynyard and Circular Head (Tape Cape having become part of Wynyard and Emu Bay having been detached to Burnie District). An Order in Council of 19 July 1950 (TGG 26 July p. 2332) redescribed the District as the Municipality of Wynyard, Circular Head having been constituted as the Smithton District. Following from this, a further Order in COuncil dated 26 July 1951 (TGG 1 August p.2693) renamed the District Wynyard.
