Description:
The Order-in-Council of 24 July 1925 (TGG 28 July p. 1655) named the District as Devonport-Kentish-Latrobe. This was rescinded by an Order-in-Council dated 30 July (TGG 4 August p. 1666) which renamed it the Devon Public Hospitals District. Devonport was excised from the District, to create Meercroft District, by an Order-in-Council dated 16 December 1949 (TGG 21 December p. 3236). The Devon and Meercroft Districts were again merged, this time as the Mersey District, by Statutory Rule 1958 no. 5 dated 10 January.
