Description:
The Artificial Breeding Board was established to regulate artificial insemination of stock. This included the provision of centres for this service and the promotion of research and experimentation. ;;;;The Artificial Breeding Board ceased with the repealing of the Artificial Breeding Act 1964 under the provisions of the Herd Improvement Act 1977. The Herd Improvement Board of Tasmania was created under the provisions of the 1977 Act and the Tasmanian Herd Improvement Organisation (THIO) was established under the governance of the Board at this time.
