The Avoca school was established on 1 March 1860. 43 pupils attended at some time during the year with the average monthly attendance being 32. Plans for extending the school were announced in May 1927. In 1950 more additions were made to enable secondary classes to be added (the school beccame a modern school). Secondary classes were contintued until 1972.;;The school was closed in 2020 due to declining enrolment numbers, and many students moved to Campbell Town District School.
