Description:
The River Don School Board sent a request for books and maps to the Board of Education in 1862. In April 1864, the Board of Education approved an application to purchase books for the Don School which had been established by private parties. There were 3 teachers and 113 children on the roll with an average attendance of 80 for the year 1868. In the 1883 Education Report, it was listed as Don School. The school closed at the beginning of 1940, as it was considered more economical ro convey the pupils to Devonport. The site was to be taken over by a committee of restidents for use as a hall.;;
