In 1864 the Board of Education received a letter from Rev. Mr Freeman as to an application for assistance for the erection of a school at Margate North West Bay.;;Margate Primary School celebrated its' 150 year anniversary in 2019., having started in 1869. It has operated on the current site for over one hundred years, and prior to that at Sandfly Road.
