Description:
The first public school in the area was established by the Van Diemen's Land Company from 1842. The Board of Education took over responsibility by providing government-paid teachers from 1854. Stanley State School changed into Stanley Area School, Stanley District School and then became Stanley Primary School.;;;;High school classes were closed December 1934.;;;;
