Description:
The Wattle Hill School was located four miles from Sorell on the Sorell Nugent Road. On 9 September 1865, an application was received from Dr Blyth, the warden of Sorell, requesting aid to establish a school at Iron Stone Rivulet, later known as Wattle Hilll. The foundation stone of the school was laid by the donor of the land, John Walker esq., on 23 November 1868.;;Wattle Hill School was closed after 71 years, and the students were transferred to Sorell School.
