Description:

Exeter State School was established in 1909 and in 1940 was merged with several other state schools to form West Tamar Area School. This was renamed Exeter Area School in about 1954 and again renamed Exeter District High School in 1973. The school was split into new Primary and High Schools in 1985, the change coming into effect on the 5th November 1985 with the opening of the new Exeter High School.
