On 21 July 1921 the residents of Mowbray submitted a petition to St Leonard's Council, requesting the erection of a school at Mowbray. The children at Mowbray had been attending schools at Newnham and Invermay, in over crowded conditions. The Official opening of the Mowbray Heights State School took place on 24 September 1927, with an official ceremony and school fair.;;;;Mowbray Heights Primary School caters for years K-6. Mowbray is a suburb of Launceston.
