Description:
The State Service was reorganised by the incoming Labor government. The Department of State Development was created by amalgamating Tasmania Development and Resources, Tourism Tasmania, Major Projects Tasmania (from the Department of Premier and Cabinet), the Office of Sport and Recreation, Tasmanian Arts Advisory Board and Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (from the Department of Education) and the Office of Antarctic Affairs (from the Department of Primary Industries, Water and Environment).~
