Description:
The Department managed the industrial relations system as well as the processes of vocational education and training. On 27 March 1996 its focus was again narrowed to concentrate exclusely on Vocational Education and Training. The information and inspection services associated with the Industrial Relations Act 1984 were transferred to the Workplace Standards Authority. All other responsibilities under the Act, along with the Office of the Enterprise Commissioner, and the Tasmanian Industrial Commission, were transferred to the department of Premier and Cabinet.~
