Description:
In 2002 some divisions of the former Department of State Development (namely Tourism Tasmania, Arts Tasmania, Events Tasmania, the Tasmanian Bicentenary Office and the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery) were transferred to the newly created Department of Tourism, Parks, Heritage and the Arts. What remained of the Department of State Development was renamed to the Department of Economic Development.;;In Feb 2008 Tourism moved from the Department of Tourism, Arts and the environment to the Department of Economic Development. It is now called the Department of Economic Development and Tourism.
