Description:
The Revenue & Gaming Division was one of four Divisions set up as part of a major restructure of the Department of Treasury & Finance in 1994. The Division was responsible for the collection and accounting for major forms of State taxation; ;;managing casino gaming, the operation of gaming machines in clubs and hotels, and minor gaming activities. The Division comprised three major branches and a specialist advisory unit on State taxation matters. The Director of the Division held statutory Commissioner appointments under the various State Taxation Acts.;;;;The term State Revenue Office has continued to be used since the 1980's despite this not appearing in any of the Department's Annual Reports.;;;;
