From 3 April 2000 administrative responsibility for the Office of the Commissioner for Licensing was transferred to the Department of Treasury & Finance. Within the Department it was administered in the enlarged Revenue, Gaming and Licensing Division. A Licensing Branch was created within the Division and was soon called the Liquor Licensing Branch. The Branch provided administrative support for the Commissioner for Licensing and the Licensing Board of Tasmania, which are separate entities established under the Liquor and Accommodation Act 1990.;;;;
