Description:

The name of the Department known as the Department of Tourism, Parks, Heritage and the Arts was changed to the Department of Tourism, Arts and the Environment. The Environment Division, part of the Department of Primary Industries, Water and Environment was amalgamated with the Department Of Tourism, Arts and the Environment. ;;;;DTAE's stated mission was to enhance Tasmania's economic, environmental and cultural wellbeing, both now and in the future, through the best possible use and management of Tasmania's natural and cultural assets.;;;;DTAE incorporated the following business divisions:;;- Tourism Tasmania ;;- Events Tasmania ;;- Arts Tasmania ;;- Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery ;;- Parks and Wildlife Service ;;- Aboriginal Heritage Office ;;- Heritage Tasmania ;;- Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens ;;- Environment ;;- Port Arthur Historic Site Management Authority ;;;;On 12 Feb 2008 Tourism was moved to the Department of Economic Development becoming the Department of Economic Development and Tourism. DTAE became the Department of Environment, Parks, Heritage and the Arts.
