The Geospatial Infrastructure Branch (GIB) - incorporating the Office of the Surveyor General - developed and implemented policy, standards, systems and programs in the areas of cadastral survey, geodetic survey, spatial data and survey-related legislation.;;;;GIB also provided the Tasmanian Government with a survey consultancy and brokerage service, and supported the Nomenclature Board.;;;;In 2017 the Branch was combined with other sections in the Department to become the Location Services Branch.
