According to the Water and Sewerage Corporation Act 2012, on 1 July 2013 the Tasmanian Water and Sewerage Corporation, trading as TasWater took over the water and sewerage services and assets previously operated by Ben Lomond Water, Cradle Mountain Water and Southern Water.;;;;TasWater is owned by local government, with each of the state's local councils owning a share and receiving dividends from the company.
