In the late 1990's, under the newly formed Department of Health and Human Services, the Beaconsfield hospital was reconstituted as a multi purpose service.;;;;Originally known as the West Tamar Health & Community Service, the service consists of a 22 bed facility including Residential Aged Care, Acute Care, Respite, Palliative Care and Post Natal Care. There are also a number of Community Services, Visiting Services and Support Groups that operate from the service including a Women's Health Clinic, social work and physiotherapy.
