In July 2018 the Department of Health and Human Services became the Department of Health when the new Department of Communities Tasmania was created. Children and Youth Services and Housing, Disability and Community Services moved to Communities Tasmania. ;;;;The Department of Health incorporates Ambulance Tasmania, Population Health Services and Health Professional Policy and Advisory Services (HPPAS). HPPAS includes Allied Health, General Practice and Primary Care, and Nursing and Midwifery.
