Series notes:
The Land Valuation Act 1950 and later the Land Valuation Act 1971 required that a valuation record should be kept for each district. The rolls record:

a.) the name and postal address of the owner

b.) situation and description of the land

c.) area of land

d.) unimproved value of the land

e.) improved value of the land

f.) assessed annual value of the land

g.) improvements on the land; and

h.) any additional information.

The rolls were amended for changes in land valuation or changes in ownership. Field books that were used as working papers to develoip these rolls have been retained by the Office of the Valuer General.

Geographical by municipality, then by division and street within each municipality.
